Framer Workshop: Building a Personal Portfolio
We welcomed a Framer Ambassador, Daria Anghel, for an exclusive workshop on building a professional personal portfolio. Whether attendees were students looking to stand out to recruiters or simply wanted a more polished online presence, the session gave them the tools and confidence to get started.
What is Framer?
Framer is a no-code website-building platform that is completely free for students. It allows anyone, regardless of design or development experience, to create a professional website or portfolio from scratch. With intuitive drag-and-drop tools and customisable templates, Framer removed the technical barrier that usually comes with building a website, letting attendees focus on showcasing their work and ideas.
What We Covered
The hands-on session took attendees from concept to a fully functional portfolio. We covered:
- Crafting a strong personal narrative — how to position skills, experience, and goals in a way that resonates with recruiters and collaborators.
- Framer fundamentals and ready-to-use templates — a practical walkthrough of the platform’s core features, enabling attendees to build a site with confidence, even with no prior design experience.
- Framer analytics — how to track visitor activity on a site and understand who is engaging with your work.
Why It Mattered
A personal portfolio isn’t just for those in creative fields. In today’s competitive job market, having a professional online presence can set candidates apart before they even submit an application. A well-built portfolio lets your work speak for itself, helping attendees attract opportunities, recruiters, and collaborators, rather than having to chase them down.
The workshop gave attendees a practical, hands-on step toward building a stronger, more visible personal brand.
