As the world continues to shift towards a more digital and cashless society, the demand for secure, fast, and convenient online payment solutions is at an all-time high. And with the rise of new technologies and changing consumer behaviours, the future of online payments is becoming increasingly complex and uncertain. That’s why we have invited our distinguished guest speakers to share their insights, experiences, and predictions on the future of online payments.

Luc Van Hout and Willem Van Dijk, representing Klarna, presented the company and  discussed how customer behaviour is changing, especially regarding Gen Z, therefore highlighting the need for change within payment solutions. Klarna is a online store that allows for innovative payment solutions like post-purchase payments, a bit like credit cards, and installments plans. The company is therefore able to act as a “bank” and liberate the younger generations by the burdens related to established and outdated financial institutions.

We then welcomed Anne Willem de Vries, co-founder and CEO, and Alexander Groot, product lead, from SilverFlow. Silverflow is a cloud-based platform implemented within the acquiring process in the online payment supply chain. They presented to us the benefits of a cloud-based payment transfer system, what changes from a technical perspective between different payment solutions available in the market and why cloud-based solutions will be the future. In summary? Silverflow focuses on access to a rich set of smart data at transaction level, improved day-to-day use through operations designed to be easy to work using the latest technology, and innovation to provide the highest service to its customers.

This event was an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, network with industry experts, and get inspired by the future of online payments.
